Condition of abnormally low level of sugar
(glucose) in the blood, which starves the
brain. It causes weakness, the shakes, and
perspiration, sometimes fainting. Untreated
victims have suffered paranoia and extreme
anxiety. Treatment is by special diet.
Hypoglycaemia is rare in combination with
other diseases, but in diabetics, low blood
sugar occurs when the diabetic has taken too
much insulin. A hypoglycaemic is a drug that
lowers the level of glucose sugar in the
blood. Diabetics who do not require insulin
can control their blood-sugar level by diet
and hypoglycaemic tablets.
